Smith Partnership, one of largest firms of solicitors in the East Midlands, celebrates the twelfth anniversary of its First Tuesday Club, a highly successful networking initiative for Derby’s professional services community.

The club meets quarterly on the First Tuesday of the month and has become a key fixture in the diaries of leading processional business people in the city, who find it an extremely useful event at which to network and establish new business relationships.

To celebrate the twelfth anniversary, the First Tuesday club met for a country walk on 5th July at Morley Hayes. It started with a 4 mile morning walk guided round the Morley Hayes and the surrounding land by the owner, Andrew Allsop. Finishing off with a well-deserved glass of Pimms and a delicious meal in the De Ferrers Suite at Morley Hayes.

Victoria Booth, Marketing Manager at Smith Partnership said: “First Tuesday Club continues to be one of our most successful initiatives, continually attracting increasing numbers of professional people from across Derbyshire, and indeed we have started seeing an increase in people coming from further afield in the East Midlands region.

“It has proved to be particularly popular with local business women who regard it as an ideal forum for expanding their network of contacts. This popularity could be to do with the informal environment that we have created which makes the whole networking process that much easier.  I am delighted that the local business community find it so valuable and worthwhile, as the number of attendees proves.”

Amy Delahay from DE22 who is a regular attendee at First Tuesday, said: “I’m aware that many of my female counterparts are sometimes a little uncomfortable when networking in a heavily male oriented environment.  However, Smith Partnership’s informal approach, coupled with the growing number of women now attending First Tuesday, makes the event very relaxed and enjoyable.”

The club meets at different venues each time, usually around lunch time.  For more information, please contact Victoria Booth on 0330 123 1229.
