A quacking competition

Smith Partnership held its annual internal duck competition in aid of Sight Support a few days before DERBY's most colourful race of the year – the Ey Up Mi Duck Race – returned to the River Derwent on Saturday 11th June.

The winner of our internal competition was indeed the Queen with her corgis, this also won best dressed giant duck on the day of the race.

The winner of the Best Dressed Giant Duck competition was the Queen, with her corgis.

This year, the prize for the best-dressed duck was dinner, bed and breakfast at the Cathedral Quarter Hotel, in St Mary's Gate.

In June 2011 Smith Partnership became an Approved Provider to Sight Support Derbyshire.  This was achieved by training staff in how to provide quality services to people with a visual impairment.

The training included learning about eye conditions and the impact of sight loss and how to meet, greet and support someone with a visual impairment together with tuition on how staff can deal with legal issues for clients with a visual impairment.

Sight Support Derbyshire is a charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of people with sight loss throughout Derbyshire.

Each year the internal competition becomes more fierce for the staff of Smith Partnership Solicitors, for the fourth year running the employment department has won the internal best dressed competition.  Many of us are already planning on a show stopper for next year in order to stop the employment department winning for a fifth year!

Well done to everyone who took part and for raising money for such a brilliant charity.
