Event will celebrate the achievements of women

BUSINESS leaders in Burton are inviting women from across the area to take part in a special event aimed at celebrating their achievements.

The Burton and District Chamber of Commerce will hold its first Women in Business event on Thursday, March 6 at spa resort Hoar Cross Hall.

The event, which takes place between 2pm and 4pm, will be mirror thousands being held throughout the world to inspire women, celebrate achievements and connect women around the world for International Women’s Day , which takes place on March 8.

Carol Sewell, from Burton and District Chamber of Commerce, said: “This is going to be a fantastic event where delegates will meet like minded business women as well as learn about networking and how this can help grow their business.

“As it’s a celebration, we’ll be serving afternoon tea in the wonderful surroundings of Hoar Cross Hall.”

The chamber has teamed up with The Smith Partnership, FCM Associates and Hoar Cross Hall for the launch which they hope will inspire and support women running businesses across the region

Claire Twells, a founding member of the popular Pnk Ladies Networking Group, solicitor and business development partner for Smith Partnership, will be revealing her top networking tips as guest speaker at the event.

She said: “I will be telling my story about conquering the art of networking as well as sharing top tips to ensure the time women spend networking delivers great results for their business.”

Burton based FCM Associates will be providing every guest with a free copy of its popular booklet ‘Turning PR into Profit’.
