Smith Partnership marks a new era in trading, as it becomes a Limited Liability Partnership on its 30th anniversary
Smith Partnership, one of largest firms of solicitors in the East Midlands, is proud to be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2017, and to mark the occasion made the decision to become a Limited Liability Partnership on 1st October; which offers a more modern business structure for the law firm.
Russell Davies, partner at Smith Partnership spoke about the new era in its history: “As a business Smith Partnership has enjoyed a steady growth over the last 30 years and being a partnership has suited our business model. However, working in an increasingly litigious business environment, we had to review the liabilities that our partners faced, plus the cost of personal indemnity insurance against a legal claim was rising year on year.
“Becoming a Limited Liability Partnership has given us an opportunity to revise the partnership deed in line with modern business partnership terms, to protect our own liability and to offer more security for our employees.
“We thought the 30th anniversary in business was a good opportunity to make this change to our structure, as maybe some things that were relevant in 1987 simply aren’t relevant now. So we are looking forward to the next 30 years with renewed optimism trading in a new way to support our clients.”
