Leading the way on Dementia Friends Week 2019

Dementia Friends Week 2019

Dementia Action Week 2019 is taking place from Monday 20th  – Sunday 26th May. The Alzheimer's Society's Dementia Action Week unites people, workplaces, schools and communities to take action and improve the lives of people living with dementia. Smith Partnership is set to host a series of events to support the charity on Dementia awareness week, with the aim to raise the profile of Dementia Friends within Derby.

Darren Perry, Notary Public and Partner at Smith Partnership, is a Dementia Friends Champion, with a wealth of experience in delivering workshops to those interested in receiving information and training.

Darren will be holding a series of workshops throughout the week to promote the work of Dementia Friends. Members of staff from across all eight offices that Smith Partnership hold in Derby, Leicester, Swadlincote, Burton and Stoke are set to take part, meaning that there will always be a Dementia Friend at hand at one of our Smith Partnership branches, this is something that we feel is extremely important to have.

In addition, Smith Partnership is working alongside Marketing Derby to offer a workshop to Marketing Derby bondholders to increase the number of businesses in the city who are ‘dementia friendly’. Attendees will be given the opportunity to not only understand the impacts of dementia and how to support not only those struggling with it, but their friends and families as well.

Smith Partnership is proud to be participating in Dementia Awareness Week 2019 and taking a lead role in the East Midlands.
