About Simon
Simon has been a partner of Smith Partnership since 1988 and heads up the Private Client Department, which has teams working out of all of our offices. Simon’s particular specialism and interest is in looking after vulnerable people, for example the learning disabled and the elderly. Simon regularly speaks to elderly groups and their carers on topics affecting the elderly.
In addition, Simon is the official legal adviser for RESCARE, HAVCARE, North East and South Derbyshire Advocacy Services and Derbyshire Pensioners’ Association. He also runs a monthly surgery at Derby Age Concern.
Simon is married with 2 adult children and is a Governor at Derby Grammar School, and also sits on the Burton District Scout Executive. His interests are the outdoors. Over the past 3 years, Simon has both cycled and walked from coast to coast, climbed the Yorkshire and the National 3 Peaks, and cycled from John O'Groats to Bristol. In 2011 Simon doesn't intend on slowing down and plans to cycle from Derby to Scotland.
