About Muctar
Muctar has over 16 years experience in this field and is a Solicitor-Advocate Civil meaning he appears in all tiers of court, reflecting the department’s commitment to do most of its advocacy in-house.

He qualified in 1991 and joined the firm in 1999. Muctar became a partner in the firm in 2005. He is also a member of the Local Family Justice Council and has been appointed chair of its expert subcommittee.

He graduated at the University of Birmingham and completed his articles as a civil service lawyer for Birmingham City Council. Since then he has worked for a number of Local Authorities specialising in local government and public child care law. He is a member of the Child Care Law Panel and has extensive experience in both private practice and local authorities.

Muctar is a regular speaker nationally on issues of evidence, including expert evidence, in public law Children Act proceedings. In 2006 & 2008 he spoke at a national conference dealing with complex issues of medical evidence in child abuse cases alongside nationally renowned authorities such as Dr Jean Price, Dr Chapman, Professor Fleming, Eleanor Platt Q.C and Ian Peddie Q.C.
