About David
David joined Smith Partnership in 1986 to start the Residential Property department, having learnt the ropes at one of Derby’s more traditional legal practices. Having now been with the firm for over 20 years, David is one of our very experienced property lawyers.
Over the years David has established a huge client bank, many of whom have become lifelong valued clients and friends. They come from all walks of life with all sorts of needs and demands.
As a Derby County fan he is particularly proud of his links with the world of Professional Football. He regularly acts for current Premiership, Championship, League One and Two players. Past clients have included some of the "real" Championship Derby County stars of the 70's along with more recent Derby players . He has even acted for a former national team coach.
In client feedback, expressions like "on the ball", "great result" (usually the Footballers!) "kept us informed", "quick and effective", "clear and practical advice", "kept us entertained" (he has a sense of humour and has many stories to tell).... but most of all the word "professional" frequently appears.
Out of the office, and apart from his busy family life, David takes his positive style into the world of music where for more than 25 years he has led and motivated a Brass Ensemble for young people from 6 to 16.
