Our History

Smith Partnership was formed on 1st October 1987 and now has 28 Partners and over 200 staff spread across its 8 offices. These are not only located in the three original centres of Burton upon Trent, Derby and Swadlincote, but now also in Stoke-on-Trent which opened in the early 1990's and Leicester which opened in 1999.

The founding Partners had a common belief that the route to success was in providing excellent service to clients and three of the six founding Partners, Stephen Chittenden, Peter Smith and Steven Mann are still with the firm. That principle has underpinned everything that the firm has achieved throughout its history and allied to a commitment to invest in technology and a recognition of its staff as its major asset has enabled the firm to grow to its present size.
