
After qualifying as a solicitor in 1992, Steve lectured students on the Burton College Legal Executives course for a number of years. He also worked for several law firms in the region, before setting up his own practice Hennessy & Company solicitors in 1995, which went on to merge with Abbey Law three years ago.
During his career Steve has worked as a script consultant for the BBC, advising them on legal accuracy of scripts for programmes such as Dangerfield. He has also worked as a Legal Expert on Kilroy and has previously been Chairman of Swadlincote Duty Committee and also a Trustee of the Citizens Advice Bureau.
More recently he has written an article for the Burton Mail criticizing the CPS which was followed up by an appearance on the BBC’s ‘Politics Show’.

Steve Hennessy has joined the firm bringing with him a wealth of experience in all aspects of Criminal Law. Steve is a Higher Courts Advocate, making him the highest qualified criminal lawyer in Burton, having the equivalent rights of audience to those of a barrister and able to represent clients through to Crown Court.
