One of Burton’s longest-established firms of Solicitors, Drewry and Newbold of 45 High Street has agreed to join forces with another Burton firm, Smith Partnership. Contracts have been exchanged and the deal is due to be completed on 1st October 2008.
Andrew Phillips, Partner at Drewry and Newbold said “My Partner Tony Smith and I are very excited by this news. By retaining our premises and staff we will be able to continue to service our existing clients in the same way as before and now be able to offer them a far more comprehensive service given the additional resources, support and expertise that a larger regional firm like Smith Partnership can bring, particularly as they have a well-established Burton base themselves”.
This follows shortly after Smiths’ merger last year with another Burton firm Goodger Auden and Managing Partner Steven Mann commented “We are delighted by the prospect of having Solicitors of the calibre of Andrew and Tony as part of the Smith Partnership and I am confident that the Burton public and business community can only benefit from the improved range of services that can now be accessed from the same source as before”.
